WEEKLY INCIDENT REPORT

05/09/2011 - 25/09/2011

  • BJ, more specifically our operational managers, were extremely busy during the past 3  weeks. We are involved in various sensitive investigations. We will be able to report on  these once they are concluded.
  • Various crime prevention operations were undertaken in conjunction with security  companies and the SAPS. We arrested illegal immigrants and closed illegal shebeens.
  • House robberies, especially on small holdings, are a matter of concern. We visited all crime  scenes and followed up leads supplied by informants. With the cooperation of owners and  residents we have identified potential areas the criminals might target. During the next few  weeks, in conjunction with  security companies and the SAPS, we will launch a host of  crime prevention operations, targeting these areas. We would like to emphasize the need for  adequate lighting around the perimeter of your property. Be vigilant, and don't hesitate to  contact us or other law enforcement agencies to investigate if anything seems out of the  ordinary.
  • We are in dire need of more night vision equipment. Criminals use nighttime and darkness  as cover, and this equipment gives us an added advantage. Anyone willing to sponsor or  lend us this equipment can contact Albert Greyvenstein at Bossie's Justice.
  • Various community initiatives were attended. We would like to focus on a very effective  strategy as far as crime prevention is concerned, namely: know your neighbour, their  telephone numbers and movements. This is often the easiest person to contact if you encounter any problems, as well as an extra person to detect anything  suspicious.
  • Polsec meeting attended.
  • Please be aware that if the police helicopter is seen at night, it is usually a crime prevention  operation, and not necessarily attending to a crime scene.
